Crispin Finn Project

The design duo Crispin Finn came in to University to do a live brief with us. I'd probably say it was one of the most useful and enjoyable projects this term. We were given several limitations, which made the project quite a challenge, but it also high lighted some particularly good points!(that sounds condescending sorry). One of which was not being allowed to use the internet and so research had to be done through books and Exhibition visits which led you to sort of stumble across stuff you wouldn't of other wise seen!

Islington Museum Mural

The majority of this terms projects have been group projects which has been quite frustrating to say the least! The Spot Illustrations above were used for a proposal for a mural at islington Museum. This was my part of a larger group project to tackle problems Islington museum encounters from day to day.

Books, Blex Bolex, Paul Paetzel

I haven't been too bad with buying books this term! heres just a selection of ones i've purchased. My favourite this term has got to be Blex Bolex's 'Ballad'. There's a few i've missed out but I'm sure they will make a appearance on here at some point in the near future.

Vessel Kingston Illustration Print Fair, Crate Brewery

(Poster by Parkin)

Viv, Hannah and myself put on a show at Crate Brewery with help from our tutor. We raised a fair bit of money for our grad show, ate a lot of pizza and drank copious amounts of Ale. There was some great work on show! All three of us are very thankful for all the submissions we had and to those who helped man the stall through out the week!

KK Outlet, Anthony Burrill

I managed to get to the launch of Anthony Burill's new book at KK Outlet. It was incredibly packed. So packed I didn't get to look at everything there however the stuff i did see was great! Each page of the book is perfirated so that they can be pulled out and used as posters.

Belly Kids Ancient Egypt Exhibition

I managed to get down to the Belly Kids Ancient Egypt Exhibition at Scawfell Street Studios last month with a few friends. We turned up a bit late so missed out on the drinks. It was a very crowded, very hot room with a lot of very nice Prints, Sculptures and murals. Great Stuff!

Kingston Night Market

One of our first university projects was a live brief. We were given several stalls by Kingston Night Market. My small group chose to make a small batch of prints, Visualising the idea of trick or treat. Above is my print!

Sarah Lucas White Chapel Gallery

If it wasn't obvious from the title.. I visited the White Chapel Gallery to take a good look at Sarah Lucas's most recent exhibition. The First room was rather crammed which made it  hard to take everything in, however it was great exhibition filled with a real range of media. I particularly liked a piece titled 'Mechanical Wanker'.

Nottingham Zine Fair

I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to sell zines and prints at Nottingham Zine Fair. Due to the Risograph breaking down i was unable to sell or make any of my own prints or zines, and so I took down a selection of Second and Third year Prints and Zines to sell instead.
